First Kiss Friday – An Unforgettable Christmas by Trisha Wilson

Today’s First Kiss Friday featured guest is Trisha Wilson, author of contemporary romance An Unforgettable Christmas.  Welcome Trisha!  Here’s the first kiss between Nick Collins and Chelsea Roberts.

After realizing she was speaking of Doug and Lani Spicer, Nick was satisfied that it was someone he knew he could trust. He picked up Jasmine where she was sleeping on a pallet in the floor. Thanking them both for dinner, he bent down and kissed his aunt’s wrinkled cheek. Then, he turned to Chelsea and asked her if she’d walk him to the door. When she reluctantly agreed, they made their way out of the kitchen, and at the front door, he stopped Chelsea with a hand on her arm. “May I call you?”

She appeared startled at first, but she recovered quickly and asked, “Why would you want to? You don’t even know me.”

She really didn’t get it, did she? “Because I’d like to see you again.”

She blushed but wouldn’t look at him, “I’m sorry, but I don’t date.”

“Are you involved with someone already?”

“I don’t believe that’s any of your business!”

“As a matter of fact, I believe it is. See, it’s like this, I like you, I want to see you again, and I’m awfully tempted to kiss you right now. Now, if I’d be stepping on someone else’s toes, then I have the right to know. I also have the right to know if someone’s going to come after me for making my point clear to you. So, is there someone else, or isn’t there?”

He had to lean closer to hear her whispered, “No, there’s no one.” After hearing that small confession, he leaned in closer and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. When he lifted his head up, he looked into her eyes, taken aback when he spotted tears trailing down her cheeks. “I-” having to clear his throat before he could finish, “I apologize for making you cry, but I’m not sorry I kissed you.”

“Neither am I,” she replied.
